About Project Seed

What is Project Seed? Good question. It's Icon's new campaign designed to promote and introduce the sport to new skaters. We are holding a video essay contest in search of 3 people who intend to use a new 2010 Icon Snowskate to share snowskating with people in their neighborhood. Three new Icon Snowskates are up for grabs. Here's what we're looking for.

  • Someone who sincerely wants to promote snowskating
  • A person with friends that skate or snowboard that you feel would excel at snowskating.
  • Someone willing to share their Icon. No more tripods and riding by yourself, get some sessions going!
  • A genuine person who will promote to friends, family, shops, and local skaters.
  • Most importantly, someone who loves snowskating.

Guidelines:

  1. Videos must be no more that 5 minutes long.
  2. Include mostly interview style shots, but definitely include shots of you, your friends, and neighborhood if you wish. Show what your sessions are like now, and how a new board will change them.
  3. Upload all video essays to http://www.vimeo.com and send a link to with the subject line reading "Project Seed".
  4. All submissions must be in by November 26, 2009.
  5. The winner will be announced November 27, 2009.
